Our Lady's Secondary School came
into being in 1971 with the amalgamation of St.
Mary's Boys' Secondary School and Meán Scoil
Mhuire, Clochar na Trócaire. Enriched by both
traditions the school community is a happy,
united group, proud of past achievements and
striving for future goals. Our most cherished
inheritance is the close bond that exists
between teachers and pupils.
Our Aim is that each student leaving Our Lady's
will know and appreciate his/her own dignity and
worth and those of others and will embrace
life's challenges positively, having had the
opportunity during his/her school-life to
develop his/her talents and to realise his/her
potential.
Co-education takes account of the movement in
society towards integration and equality of
opportunity. In the context of the school this
means that all students, girls and boys, have
the opportunity to avail of tuition in all
subject areas. Furthermore, it offers them that
opportunity in a natural, healthy environment
and facilitates the attainment of high academic
standards by both sexes.
