We have a very strong winning
reputation where basketball is concerned in our
school. Our Teams are being lead by one of the most popular
basketball coaches Gerry Smith who strives to
get the best out of the students and 2012 is
lining up to be a super year for Our Lady's teams.

Mr Gerry Smyth receiving the Tom Collins Award
for his amazing contribution to Basketball.
It was presented to him at a special very well
attended function in the National Basketball
Arena in Tallaght on Saturday September 27th.
We congratulate Gerry on this wonderful
achievement.
Mr
Smyth arrived on the teaching staff in Our
Lady’s in 1983, since that he has placed Our
Lady’s on the national stage with his All
Ireland successes and 1993 saw his Senior Boys
Basketball team win the ‘A’ All Ireland and go
on to represent Ireland in Athens, Greece at the
World Champions.
The Tom Collins Award was presented to Gerry
for his sterling service to the game both in
coaching and at administrative level and is
recognition for his unfaltering commitment to
the game.
